After Super Tuesday, Joe Biden is likely to be the Democratic party nominee. So what should we expect in a matchup between Donald Trump versus Joe Biden?
Just a week before Super Tuesday, most liberal news outlets were already signaling the demise of Joe Biden’s campaign because of his poor debate performances, endless gaffes and lack of funds. Then suddenly a tearing James Clayburn of South Carolina discovered Joe Biden as the Joe Biden he knew all along. He recollects Joe Biden at a Black Church event after a mass shooting, which Joe Biden himself recounts and then magically connects it to an emotional and empathetic plea that he was running for President because “My Son Beau” wanted him to do so.
Never mind that he could not speak or debate consistently on any policy, he often forgot where is, he could not tell the difference between his sister and his wife, he often got people and names mixed up, or Hunter Biden’s controversial Ukraine and China deals, Joe Biden should be elected simply because of empathy or because he is the Joe Biden that powerful Black politicians can trust.
What was even more amazing was the herd mentality of Democratic party leaders and candidates like Pett Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar, and Democratic party voters in the Southern States, who automatically fall in line to endorse Joe Biden. From a dismal failure, Joe Biden was now the party’s superstar.
It may indeed be very difficult to beat a candidate whose only reason for winning the nomination is empathy. It is indeed a very low bar for Joe Biden to, in any way, fail his supporters. His campaign need not argue for any substantial policies and only need to focus on why the American people should take pity on him and help to fulfill the wish of his dying son. It is a very powerful message because he is not doing it for himself but to fulfill the wish of his dying son.
Let’s assume for a moment that Joe Biden will be able to carry on with his campaign without being referred to a Senior Home before the election in November. What could be some of President Donald Trump’s strategies to defeat Joe Biden?
Donald Trump versus Joe Biden
Obviously, Donald Trump should avoid directly attacking Joe Biden’s failing mental capacity or his late son’s wish because it will only serve to further strengthen the resolve of his supporters and the American people to vote for him.
Donald Trump’s strategy should instead focus on making a case why Joe Biden and his family should not be deserving of any empathy. Empathy should only be given to those who are truly honest, kind and noble, and of an impeccable character throughout their public service career. Donald Trump will need to make a strong and convincing case that Joe Biden potentially used the power of his office to earn favors for his son, Hunter Biden, and other members of his family.
Would any truly noble person publicly boast about how he successfully threatened and bullied the President of Ukraine to fire a public prosecutor who was incidentally investigating a corrupt firm that was paying his son for some legal work? The U.S. Senate committees need to fully investigate whether there was any quid pro quo. The committees should subpoena former Obama Administration officials and the secretary of Joe Biden on what was done when George Kent of the State Department raised some concerns to the Vice President’s office regarding the potential conflict of interest due to Hunter Biden’s role in Burisma.
Similar investigations need to be carried out with regards to deals that his brother and sister may have benefitted from and whether there was any possibility of a quid pro quo. Donald Trump’s will need to review all of Joe Biden’s past policies and video recordings to convince the American people that Joe Biden should not be deserving of their empathy.
Middle Class and Black Community
The next strategy that the Trump campaign could use is to convince the American people that after more than 4 decades of public service and 8 years as Vice President, Joe Biden has very little to show for in terms truly helping the middle class and the Black community. Trump campaign needs to compare the performance of Donald Trump in the last 3 years and draw out the stark contrast in terms of the abysmal performance of Joe Biden and/or the Obama Administration.
Donald Trump should showcase all his achievements that have uplifted the middle class and the Black Community. These include record low unemployment numbers, the prison reforms, rising wages, various housing and entrepreneurship initiatives and the strong economic performance.
Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign should carefully put together a video of all Joe Biden’s extremely left-leaning progressive policies during the debates. There is a general misconception that his policies would appeal to the moderate wing of the Democratic party. In reality, all the Democratic party candidates were much more left-leaning than their moderate voters during previous elections. All of them have agreed to extend free healthcare and other social services to all illegal immigrants.
Both Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders champion universal health care, raising the minimum wage, raising taxes on the wealthy, wiping out student debt, making college affordable, if not free, and leading the fight against climate change. Joe Biden also supports pro-choice even for late-term abortion, embrace the Green New Deal and a carbon tax to support the stringent Paris Agreement and is promising to enforce stricter gun control policies.
Biden was Senate Judiciary chair when Anita Hill brought sexual harassment allegations against then-Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas. He has been criticized for not calling additional witnesses who could have supported Hill’s claims.
Recently Biden reached out to Hill to express “regret” about how she was treated during the hearings, but she declined to consider his remarks as an apology.
Anita Hill said she felt that Biden still hasn’t truly confronted his role in the hearings and that she was also concerned about allegations of inappropriate touching allegations that have been brought against him.
‘Creepy Joe Biden’
Biden has been accused by several women of touching them inappropriately and making them feel uncomfortable. Lucy Flores shares her embarrassing experience describing how Biden kissed her and smelled her hair without her consent in 2014.
AS I WAS TAKING DEEP BREATHS AND PREPARING MYSELF TO MAKE MY CASE TO THE CROWD, I FELT TWO HANDS ON MY SHOULDERS. I FROZE. “WHY IS THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES TOUCHING ME?”
I FELT HIM GET CLOSER TO ME FROM BEHIND. HE LEANED FURTHER IN AND INHALED MY HAIR. I WAS MORTIFIED. I THOUGHT TO MYSELF, “I DIDN’T WASH MY HAIR TODAY AND THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS SMELLING IT. AND ALSO, WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK? WHY IS THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES SMELLING MY HAIR?” HE PROCEEDED TO PLANT A BIG SLOW KISS ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD. MY BRAIN COULDN’T PROCESS WHAT WAS HAPPENING.
I WAS EMBARRASSED. I WAS SHOCKED. I WAS CONFUSED. THERE IS A SPANISH SAYING, “TRAGAME TIERRA,” IT MEANS, “EARTH, SWALLOW ME WHOLE.” I COULDN’T MOVE AND I COULDN’T SAY ANYTHING. I WANTED NOTHING MORE THAN TO GET BIDEN AWAY FROM ME. MY NAME WAS CALLED AND I WAS NEVER HAPPIER TO GET ON STAGE IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE.
Obamacare’s Catastrophic Failure
Why should Americans trust Joe Biden on delivering on Healthcare? Joe Biden was the Vice President when the now infamous Obamacare was delivered, promising Americans that if they like their plan, they could keep it. Obamacare’s catastrophic failure in terms of rising premiums is still fresh on the minds of Americans. Not only will Americans be facing more taxes, but there is also no guarantee that he will be able to deliver on healthcare in a potentially divided House and Senate.
